ERG is a member of the ETS family, which is involved intissue remodelling, apoptosis, cell formation, differentiation, and proliferation. The genesis andprogression of tumours are influenced by the abnormalexpression of many ETS proteins. Normal processes likemesoderm development are associated with ERG.Aggressive forms of prostate cancer are linked to TMPRSS2-ERG fusion, which is caused by translocations andinterstitial deletions. In prostate cancer, overexpression ofthe ERG antibody is linked to aggressive tumour behaviourand patient survival. Prostate cancer cells, lymphocytes, and endothelial cells are all labelled by ERG antibodies. ERGbelongs to the ETS family that plays important roles in celldevelopment, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis andtissue remodeling. The aberrant expression of several ETSproteins is involved in tumor development andprogression.
