Actin, Smooth Muscle (Leiomyosarcoma Marker)

Clone 1A4 (Concentrate)

Actin, Smooth Muscle (Leiomyosarcoma Marker), clone 1A4 is a monoclonal antibody that specifically recognizes smooth muscle actin (SMA), an actin isoform predominantly found in smooth muscle cells. This antibody, clone 1A4, binds to the alpha-smooth muscle actin protein, a key component of the cytoskeleton involved in cellular contractility. It is widely used in immunohistochemistry to identify smooth muscle differentiation in both normal tissues and neoplastic conditions. Its diagnostic utility is particularly valuable in distinguishing leiomyosarcoma from other soft tissue tumors, as leiomyosarcomas typically show strong and diffuse cytoplasmic staining for SMA. Additionally, this marker can be helpful in identifying myofibroblasts in reactive and fibrotic processes, as well as in certain vascular tumors. Clone 1A4 is considered a reliable tool for pathology labs due to its specificity and consistent staining patterns.
