Biological Background Beta-Catenin is a multifunctional protein that plays a dual role in cell–cell adhesion and the Wnt signaling pathway. In normal epithelial cells, it is located at the cell membrane in association with cadherins, maintaining tissue architecture. Aberrant nuclear and/or cytoplasmic accumulation of Beta-Catenin is a hallmark of dysregulated Wnt signaling and is implicated in various cancers, including colorectal carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, medulloblastoma, ovarian tumors, and desmoid-type fibromatosis.
