CD45RO is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed predominantly on memory T cells, as well as subsets of B cells and monocytes. It functions in T-cell activation and signaling. Commonly used as a T-cell marker in immunohistochemistry, CD45RO aids in distinguishing memory T cells from naïve T cells and is valuable in the diagnosis and classification of lymphoid malignancies.
