Product Overview

Clone: KRT5/3594

Cytokeratin 5 (KRT5) (Basal, Myoepithelial & Mesothelial Cell Marker); Clone KRT5/3594 is a highly specific monoclonal antibody developed for the detection of Cytokeratin 5, a type II intermediate filament protein prominently expressed in the basal layer of stratified epithelia, as well as in myoepithelial and mesothelial cells. Clone KRT5/3594 provides strong and consistent immunoreactivity in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections, making it a valuable tool in immunohistochemistry. This antibody is widely used in diagnostic pathology for the identification of squamous cell carcinomas, basal-like breast carcinomas, and mesotheliomas, where KRT5 expression is a key distinguishing feature. The clone is particularly useful in differentiating between epithelial subtypes and in distinguishing mesothelioma from metastatic adenocarcinoma when used in combination with other markers. Its concentrated format offers flexibility for optimized dilution and protocol customization, ensuring reliable performance in both research and clinical diagnostic settings.
