Product Overview

Clone: KBA.62

KBA.62 (Melanoma Associated Antigen); Clone KBA.62 (Concentrate) is a monoclonal antibody that recognizes a melanoma-associated antigen expressed on the surface of melanocytic cells. While the exact molecular identity of the KBA.62 antigen remains undefined, it has proven to be a reliable marker in the identification of melanocytic lesions, particularly in cases where traditional markers such as HMB-45 or Melan-A may show limited expression. Clone KBA.62 is especially useful in immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, where it highlights melanocytic differentiation through cytoplasmic and membranous staining. Supplied as a concentrate, it allows for flexible dilution and optimization in laboratory protocols. This antibody is widely used in diagnostic pathology to aid in the detection of malignant melanoma and to distinguish it from non-melanocytic tumors. Its utility in challenging or ambiguous cases makes Clone KBA.62 a valuable component of the immunohistochemical panel for melanoma diagnosis.
