Product Overview
Clone: Polyclonal
Lambda light chains are one of the two types of light chains found in immunoglobulins (antibodies), the other being kappa light chains. In polyclonal antibodies, which are produced by different B cell clones in response to an antigen, both kappa and lambda light chains are typically present in varying proportions. Polyclonal antibodies represent a diverse population of immunoglobulins that recognize multiple epitopes on the same antigen. The presence of lambda light chains in a polyclonal antibody response reflects the natural variability and breadth of the immune response. In normal physiology, there is a balanced ratio of kappa to lambda light chains, and deviations from this ratio can sometimes indicate pathological conditions such as plasma cell dyscrasias or other B cell disorders.
