Fighting Cancer, One Slide at a Time

Product Overview

Clone: S100/722

Macrophage Marker (S100A8/A9), Clone S100/722, is a monoclonal antibody specifically designed to detect the S100A8/A9 protein complex, also known as calprotectin, which is predominantly expressed in activated monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. This heterodimeric calcium-binding protein plays a key role in inflammatory responses, immune regulation, and antimicrobial defense. Clone S100/722 provides strong cytoplasmic staining in S100A8/A9-positive cells and is highly effective for immunohistochemical analysis of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. It is particularly useful for identifying inflammatory infiltrates in a variety of pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases, chronic infections, and cancer-related inflammation. Additionally, it aids in differentiating newly recruited inflammatory cells from resident macrophages, offering valuable diagnostic insight in both acute and chronic inflammatory processes. With high specificity and sensitivity, Clone S100/722 is an important tool in diagnostic pathology and research focused on immune and inflammatory mechanisms.
