Product Overview
Clone: MTAP/1813
MTAP (Methylthioadenosine Phosphorylase) is a tumor suppressor enzyme involved in the methionine salvage pathway and purine metabolism. It is normally expressed in a wide range of tissues, but its loss is frequently associated with homozygous deletions of the CDKN2A/p16 gene locus in various cancers, including mesothelioma, gliomas, and pancreatic adenocarcinomas. The Clone MTAP/1813 is a mouse monoclonal antibody provided as a concentrate, specifically designed for immunohistochemical detection of MTAP in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. This antibody produces strong, cytoplasmic staining in MTAP-expressing cells and is a valuable diagnostic tool for identifying tumors with MTAP deletion. Its use is particularly helpful in distinguishing between benign and malignant mesothelial proliferations, aiding in diagnosis, prognosis, and guiding molecular testing strategies in oncology.
