Product Overview

Clone: GP1.4

MUC1, also known as EMA (Epithelial Membrane Antigen) or CD227, is a transmembrane glycoprotein widely expressed on the surface of most epithelial cells and frequently overexpressed in a range of epithelial malignancies, including breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and lung carcinomas. It plays important roles in cell adhesion, signaling, and tumor progression. The Clone GP1.4 is a mouse monoclonal antibody supplied as a concentrate and is specifically designed for immunohistochemical detection of MUC1 in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. This antibody provides strong membranous and sometimes cytoplasmic staining of epithelial cells, making it a useful marker for confirming epithelial origin and aiding in the diagnosis and classification of carcinomas. Its high sensitivity and specificity make Clone GP1.4 a valuable tool in diagnostic pathology.
