Description

Identifies the 36 kDa protein known as cyclin D1. Numeroushuman neoplasms exhibit overexpression of Cyclin D1, apotential protooncogene and one of the major cell cycleregulators. In vivo, this antibody inhibits cyclin D1 activity.Cyclin D1 is overexpressed in about 60% of mantle celllymphomas (MCL) due to a t(11; 14)(q13; q32)translocation. This antibody helps distinguish betweenfollicular lymphomas (cyclin D1 negative) and mantle celllymphomas (cyclin D1 positive) in CLL/SLL. Cyclin D1 isoccasionally poorly expressed in plasma cell myeloma andhairy cell leukaemia.
