Anti-CD79a is an antibody that identifies the Ig-alpha protein, which is a part of the B-cell antigen receptor found on B-lymphocytes. Commonly, Anti-CD79a is utilized alongside CD20 in diagnostic testing. While this antibody highlights numerous lymphomas similar to those identified by CD20, it exhibits a greater propensity for marking precursor B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia. Additionally, Anti-CD79a demonstrates a tendency to stain a higher number of plasma cell myeloma cases and, at times, certain varieties of endothelial cells.
