The transcriptional regulator gene BCL6 produces a nuclearzinc finger protein with 706 amino acids. A subpopulationof B-lymphocytes, primarily found in germinal centres (GC),exhibit high nuclear staining for these antibodies in normaltissue. BCL6 antibodies stain the majority of tumour cells innodular lymphocyte predominate Hodgkin lymphoma, aswell as malignant cells in follicular lymphoma, diffuse largeB-cell lymphomas, Burkitt lymphoma, and classicalHodgkin lymphoma. Additionally, anaplastic large celllymphomas (ALCL) have been observed to express BCL6.
