TLE-1 (1F5)

In both invertebrates and vertebrates, the Notchsignalling system regulates cellular interactions crucialto the specification of several fates. The TLE genes areimportant participants in the Notch pathway. In livingcells, TLEs attach to chromatin and specifically toHistone H3, but not to other essential histones. Aninvolvement during epithelial differentiation issuggested by the correlation between the expression ofthe TLE genes (TLE1, TLE2, TLE3, and TLE4) andimmature epithelial cells that are developing towards aterminally differentiated state. Synovial sarcoma can bedistinguished from other sarcomas, including those thatshare histological similarities, such as malignantperipheral nerve sheath tumour, using TLE1 antibody.
