Anti-adipophilin targets the PLIN2 (perilipin 2) protein, which is a member of the perilipin family and is linked tointracellular lipid storage droplets and lipid globule surfacemembranes in a variety of normal cells. When identifyingintracytoplasmic lipids, which are present in sebaceouslesions, it is useful. Because it can be used to designatesebocytes, anti-adipophilin is useful for identifyingsebaceous cancer.
