This MAb recognizes an intermediate filament protein of46kDa, identified as cytokeratin 20 (KRT20). In thegastrointestinal tract, KRT20 is highly expressed inenterocytes and goblet cells. It is a helpful indicator ofcolorectal and pancreatic cancer. KRT20 is expressed innormal, hyperplastic and neoplastic circumstances. It hasbeen identified in adenocarcinomas of the colon, stomachand biliary tract. In general, breast cancers don’t react.
