Product Overview
Clone: NGFR5
NGF-Receptor (p75) / CD271 (Soft Tissue Tumor Marker), Clone NGFR5 is a monoclonal antibody that specifically recognizes the low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor (p75^NTR), also known as CD271. This receptor is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and is involved in regulating neuronal growth, survival, and apoptosis during development and in response to injury. Clone NGFR5 binds selectively to CD271, making it a valuable marker for identifying neural crest-derived cells, including Schwann cells, melanocytes, and certain mesenchymal cell populations. It is widely used in diagnostic pathology, particularly in the identification and classification of soft tissue tumors such as malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST), schwannomas, and neurofibromas. Additionally, CD271 expression has been observed in some mesenchymal stem cells and subsets of melanoma and sarcoma, aiding in tumor characterization. The NGFR5 antibody is commonly applied in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and flow cytometry, where its strong and specific staining pattern supports both research and diagnostic applications in neurobiology and oncology.
